Privacy Policy

Your documents stay on your device. Reading Stuff has no accounts and no server that receives them.
What stays on your device
The PDFs you import, your bookmarks and your reading positions are stored in your browser's storage (IndexedDB) on this device only. We cannot see, access or recover them.
Deleting a book from the library removes it. Clearing your browser's data removes everything.
What we do not collect
- No account, name or email address.
- No document content, file names, book titles or anything you read.
- No advertising or advertising cookies.
- No cookies or identifiers for counting visits.
Visit counts
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify or follow you across sites. It receives the app page you are on, the page you came from, your browser and device type, and how fast the page loaded. Your IP address reaches Cloudflare to deliver this, as it does for the app's files. It never receives anything from your books.
Hosting
The app's files are served by Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare processes your IP address and browser details to deliver them and to protect the service, and may keep them in short-lived logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for how it handles that data.
Text recognition
The first time you ask the app to recognise the text of a page, your browser downloads the recognition software and English language data from the jsDelivr CDN. Only the download request reaches jsDelivr; the page image is processed on your device and is never sent.
Children
The app does not ask anyone, including children, for personal information. The only data that leave the device are the visit counts described above.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts sending anything off your device, this policy will say so before that feature ships, and the date at the top will change.
